Yesterday we noted some issues with pasting from external applications in Adobe Illustrator CS2, ... Illustrator CS2 12.0.1 (#2

Submitted by admin on Fri, 2005-10-07 15:00.

Yesterday we noted some issues with pasting from external applications in Adobe Illustrator CS2, which appear to be resolved in the new 12.0.1 update . Today we cover some problems with the same update, particularly an issue with installation.

"On two separate machines, each licensed to run Illustrator, the update fails to run. I consistently get a message that the update failed, on both machines."

"The Adobe Illustrator CS 2 12.0.1 update does not work for us. I get an error message saying that the update failed and then a message saying the update is complete. But when I check again for updates with a CS 2 app, the Illustrator update is still listed as not installed. Nor has the Illustrator version number or last updated date changed. I tried several times with the auto update app launched first from Illustrator and then from Photoshop. No joy. I captured the downloaded update .dmg file and launched the update manually and got the same result."

In other cases, the to remove what were thought to be extraneous language files for monolingual environments -- a task done with a utility like Macaroni or DeLocalizer, or through a manual process.

If you have removed any of these files, you may need to first delete the Adobe Illustrator CS2 12.0.0 application, re-install it from the original disc, then re-attempt the update.
