Electronics giant Apple has released a software update intended to fix problems with its laptop b... Apple offers laptop batter

In a statement the company admitted it had identified "battery performance issues" with some models in its MacBook and MacBook Pro range after complaints from users.

The free battery fix patch can be downloaded from the Apple website, with the group urging all MacBook and MacBook Pro users, as well as customers who purchased extra batteries between February 2006 and April 2007, to run the update software.
