Amy Andersen, 43, is a professional counselor at Moraine Park Technical College, a regional magazine writer and involved community member with previous volunteer experience at Oshkosh's Christine Ann Center, with the Exchange Club for the Prevention of Child Abuse, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Emmeline Cook Elementary School. She has a Master's degree in education and a bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Political Science, both from UW-Oshkosh. Amy is also mom to three children, ages 20, 17 and 8. "I have been an active member of the Oshkosh community for many years and bring diverse interests, responsibilities, viewpoints and talents to the table," Andersen wrote in her editorial board application.
Sandra Paffenroth, 59, was born and raised in Oshkosh. She came back after retiring from a 30-year career in public and government affairs management, working with Amoco Corp. in Chicago and a media company in Chicago. Sandra has degrees from Northwestern University, State University of New York and UW-Oshkosh. She managed the communications and civic-involvement projects tied to a major, multi-million-dollar industrial redevelopment initiative in northwestern Indiana. She also has experience running a corporate charitable foundation, serving as an advisor to former Illinois Gov. Jim Thompson, a trustee of Calumet College in Indiana and a co-chairman of special events for the American Cancer Society in Chicago. "My current particular interest is in the Oshkosh community's potential to revitalize and support its attraction as a desirable location for business, education, recreation, tourism and culture," Paffenroth wrote in her editorial board application.
Michael Scott, 33, is a financial planner with W.F. Coe & Associates, LLC of Oshkosh. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Hillsdale College in Michigan, spent several years selling financial software and recruiting sales executives in Denver, Colo., and helps business owners and individuals with corporate and retirement planning. Scott is the founding president and a current board member of Propel Oshkosh and serves as a member of Southwest Rotary and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation's grants committee. He and his wife, Lisa, are the parents of a 1-year-old boy. "
Members of the community who would like to be considered for the third quarter term are invited to submit letters of application. Two to three members of the community will be chosen to serve a three-month term from July through September.
