MANITOWOC — The American Heart Association has recognized Holy Family Memorial as one of the top hospitals for improvements made in patient record entry for coronary artery disease.
Entering patient records in the AHA's database is an important part of measuring performance to improve patient quality. It improves benchmarking ability, and ensures the cardiac team that every patient is treated according to AHA guidelines.
In Fall 2006, the AHA's "Get With the Guidelines" program challenged hospitals to increase the number of patient records entered into the association's database.
Winners, including Holy Family Memorial, were determined by identifying those with the greatest percentage increase in patients records entered.
The AHA will be listing the local health network, and other performance achievement award winners in the July issue of US News and World Report.
